I tried removing the keyboard - one part - near the VGA connector just cannot be detached. You should get a internal HDD to replace the spoiled one. Show posts by this member only Post 4. You might need a tiny scraper or a really thin flat-head screwdriver. Was having to open the entire thing after removing the three screws. Send your notebook to notebook repair shop to let them change HDD for you. Problem is the unlike older 1Malaysia netbooks which have a removal RAM and hard disk cover at the back of the netbook, this Idola netbook only has one RAM removal cover.

Show posts by this member only Post 7. Mar 3 Hello, My brother's 1Malaysia Idola netbook from Mimos is no longer bootable due to a dead harddisk - totally unrecognizable by bios. I checked underneath the stickers and there was no additional screws to be fasten.

Try removing the keyboard, few 1Msia netbook variants placed the HDD right underneath the keyboard.

IDOLA1 1 Malaysia Netbook Keyboard (end 12/31/ AM)

Was having to open the entire thing after removing the three screws. Somebody actually suggested to have the harddisk replaced when its still usable lol - so that you don't end up with important info crashing with disk. Show posts by this member only Post 1.

Show posts by this member only Post 5. I tried ivola open the keyboard to attempt to reach the harddisk - but its impossible as parts of the keyboard are like totally glued together.

Mar 4 You can't install Windows to ldola HDD or thumb drive.

Mar 2 I have personally never used any non WD harddisk after my experience with Maxtor.
